There are two Schools-of-Thought when it comes to Network Marketing today and you need to subscribe to one, but know and understand both. I’ll outline each of these below.

Old School-of-Thought

1. Attend a meeting with a friend (your future upline)… Get excited and sign up.
2. Make a list of every person you’ve ever known in your entire life.
3. Sit down and call everyone on your “names list” and invite them to an “opportunity meeting”
4. Schedule a 3-way call so upline can provide third party validation to people who don’t agree to attend the meeting.
5. For people who “flake” on the opportunity meeting; call, reschedule and offer to pick them up and drive them to the meeting so they can’t “forget” to attend.
6. For people who are still resistant, offer a CD tor DVD to them and tell them you are going to pick it up the next day because you have “someone else” who really wants to listen to it.
7. Attend every “opportunity meeting” regardless if you bring a guest or not (because it shows you are motivated).
8. Attend every “Guru” motivational rally (again, because it shows you are motivated).
9. Now that you’ve went through your list of people and most everyone said no… what next?
10. Call everyone on your list a 10th time.
11. Attend networking events and notice everyone run from you.
12. Teach the few people who do sign up below you to do exactly the same thing you did.
13. Get frustrated and quit.

New School-of-Thought

1. Make an educated decision about what type of Network Marketing Opportunity will fit your wants and needs.
2. Make a detailed list of everything you will need to get started.
3. Read a few necessary eBooks and take educational ecourses.
4. Use the Internet to attract qualified, pre-sold leads, or “prospective clients”.
5. Use the Internet to create multiple streams of income through affiliate marketing.
6. Help people who contact you make an educated decision about which MLM Opportunity would be best for them.
7. Help your downline replicate your success.
8. Tell your family, friends and business associates about your success only after they’ve asked you.
9. Retire from the 9-5 Rat Race.
10. Sit back and collect your residual income

There’s nothing wrong with the Old School-of-Thought… there are a ton of people who have been very successful doing multi level marketing that way. If that’s the method you prefer, by all means… get off of this website and go about your day.
